"Is this art?" Using the "cushion" or "pillow" (as we call it in USA) is a wonderful artistic medium...but of course I'm a tad biased. Since most are going for Dali with that wonderful mustache, I'm going to go for Warhol. Because Warhols expressive Pop Art reminds me of my son (fresh out of college and now a graphic designer and photographer in Brooklyn) who creatively wore vintage motorcycle goggles just for fun!

ReplyDeleteWarhol cushion. Not least because it would match my bright red sofa, and shoes, but because he was the ultimate instigator in the 'is this art' question. A tin of soup art? Of course it is, someone envisioned it, and designed it, its style and simplicity is beauty, and that to me, *is* art. I think he would approve of the cushion design!! :)

ReplyDeleteI would love to win the Pablo Picasso cushion, because my blog and my work stand for social engagement and political commitment in art. Picasso's oeuvre is some of the most affecting commentary on war in that lifegrinder that was the 20th century, and more specifically he bears witness to the despoliations of the White Terror.
