We enjoyed reading the ABOUT ME section of Louise's site, in particular Louise's interest in Wabi Sabi. In Louise's own words "Wabi Sabi has always been prevalent within my work; this is a Japanese aesthetic of ‘beauty in imperfection’. I record elements of trace from peeling paint on walls, weathered bill boards, through to natural decay and rust. I use layered surfaces, machine stitch, collage and paint to document and translate the tactile surfaces which I record initially though the medium of photography".
